I propose the creation of a new independent roleplay tag: pcindie
Which stands for Para Centric Indie.
After this post [x] by galaxyrph, I started to wonder if there was a tag for independent roleplayers who prefer para/multi para roleplays. For me, personally, I have had troubles finding those roleplayers who will do longer posts with me rather than just the one-liners. After looking around (and a suggestion from seraphicwrites), I decided that I would go ahead and try to get a tag going for all of us indie roleplayers. At the end of this post, there is a second tag as well for single to multi para plots.
I don’t know about you, but I have struggled with trying to find indie partners who do prefer, or even just do, paragraph roleplaying. Please don’t take this as me disliking one-liners, but for those of us who prefer to paragraph roleplay, it can be somewhat difficult to find mutual partners to plot with. I know there are the indie tags to search through, but they are so flooded that even if you post your own plots/promos to find something or someone to roleplay with, within ten minutes, your plots/promos can be eaten up.
Then there was the LSRP tag, and I thought that this could work out beautifully for indie roleplayers! But I feel like that is more geared towards roleplay groups, and I wanted something that was for us Indie Roleplayers.
The rules for the tag are pretty simple:
- One liners or searching for one liners are not allowed
- This is a promo tag, so promos only. Photo promos are preferred.
- Only post the same promo once a week.
- While you can accept/do one-liners, this tag is to look for people who are para centric.
- You must be an independent blog. It can be a fandom blog or an OC blog, but it must be independent.
While there is no guidebook for being para centric, to be considered para centric, you should prefer to write at least one meaty paragraph (typically 6-10 sentences) to multiparagraph/novella style threads.
The “partner” tags to this one will be pcplot and pcstarter. PCPLOT allows you to plot ideas or promos for plot ideas you have. Being able to promote your plot here will allow everyone to see that your plot idea is for other plot centric roleplayers. This way, you and your partner will be on the same page from the start. PCSTARTER is a place that you can post starters or do starter call outs. Again, this allows everyone to be on the same page and, hopefully, your starter will get picked up faster.
Well, I think that’s pretty much it. Don’t be afraid to let me know what you think of this idea. If you think it’s a terrible idea, or can develop it a little more, feel free to tell me! While I may disagree, you are free to give your opinion respectfully.
I will be adding my own promo to pcindie to help get the tag started (:
